Are you really teaching Vibe Cycle?

Nobody said it was easy - being a professional isn't easy either. Are you a professional firstly?? What's your idea of a professional in the fitness industry?

For me it's quite a few things..

  • understanding your product completely
  • believing in what your doing
  • having the right manner that sends people's respect for you up and up
  • not skimping on your effort for self improvement
  • satisfying your client
  • self presentation
  • tone of voice - words used
  • understanding what to say and when
The list is lengthy.

Lets think about the 20 punters in front of you the instructor. Do you know how they feel about you in the professional terms? How do they receive your instruction? Do they give back to you in the circle of never ending euphoria? Do you actually do what your asking of them? Are your requests clear and concise? Is one week different to the last? Do you leave the class pleased with them, for them, or pleased with yourself? Think about that one......

When you qualified in Vibe Cycle you did because you knew it was a complete package - musically, technique, fluidity for the group, a one motion with in a class of many, a 'group' exercise class that leaves nobody behind, all driven by the music and your love of that music and how you transpose that to your clients. See I told you it wasn't easy yet, all of the above is applicable when your a professional Vibe Cycle instructor.

If your not teaching to beat and rhythm should you really call yourself a Vibe Cycle Instructor? All Vibe instructors have attended the course for their qualification where they would have completely understood that working to the beat and rhythm and working with a lead leg is the requirement. So, I would ask you, do your classes uphold all that is your qualification - Vibe Cycle? There are many many excellent Vibe instructors who wear the symbol very well. You will be judged by quality of others.

"Oh but my group doesn't like it" honestly, they will respect you for controlling the group whilst guiding with ease, good use of words, tone and your own presence on both the bike and in the room.

If your really a generic spinner then call it that.  Vibe Cycle is for those who want more from themselves.....
